Final touches

Hey blog. Back again and ready to finish the editing of the short film. Jenna had to task of most of the editing. I started by administering the time of the film and sending all the videos over to Jenna. Now it times for me to help with the audio of the film. My job was to find different sounds for the back of certain clips. They scenes where the girls were hanging out was gonna be like playful music in the back as there was no dialogue. I searched on youtube for sounds that didn’t need permission to use. I did this by searching to playful free royalty music. I narrowed down the options and asked my friend Emilia which one she liked better. She chose a more subtle one which I think was the beta choice as well. This allows the films to not be overpowered by the music in the back. The music only served as background music for those scenes where there isn’t meant to be dialogue. Next, I searched for ominous and suspicious music for the more thrilling scenes. I did the same thing and look

Back at it again with the editing

Hey blog. I am back again here and reading to discuss the editing process within my group and how I contributed. So  Jenna has now recovered from the flu and is back and better than ever. As all of the scenes have been filmed editing tasks have started. I was the director throughout the whole filming process so I had all the videos on my phone. However, Jenna, as she’s been out, would be doing most of the filming. I ran into a problem getting the videos sent out. My phone has basically ran out of storage so sending a lot of long clips through messages isn’t able to be done with some storage. This caused me to not be able to send the videos until I freed up some storage space on my phone. I did this by going through my camera roll and deleting old and unwanted videos and photos. I also went through my apps and deleted unnecessary ones. I didn’t realize how many food apps I have that I never use lol. This freed up enough storage to get me to send the scenes over to Jenna. Next, my task

Making the social media handles

Image
Hey bloggg. Back again and ready to discuss the making of the social media platforms for my film. So I was assigned this task along with helping in making the website and postcard. First, I made the instagram using an old email because I did not create a whole email for the film. I named the instagram Shatteredbondsthefilm and most of the other platforms were also named some variation of that. Next, I added a profile picture to the account along with a bio. In the bio I added the whole cast crew names and how to watch the film once it was out. I then posted some of the groups behind the scenes while filming the first time, with Jenna. I also made sure to leave a post for the post card, that Natalia was majorly in charge of. After all this the instagram was basically complete. The only thing after that was getting some followers and that was easy. For the twitter, it was even more simple. I just used my email to make an account and named it around the same thing for the instagram. I ad

Postcard timeee

Hey guys! Okay so let me take you through my process of making the group's postcard. Since the group is four people, everyone tried to be involved in the group project. However, as Jenna has been out of commission for a while due to sickness, the rest of the group mates will have to put in more work. This is not a problem as the rest of my groupmates are very hardworking individuals, unlike my last group lol. So, originally I had no part in the postcard as I had put in a lot of work with the website and the social media handles, but now I will be doing the back page of the postcard. I talked with Natalia through a lot of my process in making the postcard as she was making the front page. I called her so I could get a gauge of how the front vibe was looking so I could match it. Natalia and I talked for a while about the postcard and other things as her and I are friends outside this class. I then went on to make the back of the postcard. She sent me the completed front and this hel

Creating the website

Image
Hey blog. Here again and todays topic will be my contribution in making the website! So most of the website was assigned to Carleigh but there was a problem. She used an outside resource to create the website which when she was done charged her to share it to others. This cause her to be very frustrated as all of the work she did the website would be erased. I did some research and found a free of charge website maker called “Wix”. I reassured her she wouldn’t have to redo it completely and that I would help her. I asked her to sent a screenshot of the website she had made prior as I guideline. In the making of the website I was getting frustrated myself. As there are soo many little options to edit and lots of settings to adjust, making the website was annoying. Wix made it pretty easy to use the features and everything so that was a plus. I had to think of a color pallet for our website which I ended up with a black, dark red and cream color. I tried to keep this color pallet across

Sickness won't stop the girls!

Hey blog, back again. So bad news but also good news. Jenna got the flu. No, I was so sad when she told me. Not only because the group would need to figure out how to film, but also cause she's my friend and I wouldn't be able to see her for a while. She told us on the Friday before the group was planning on finishing filming. This was an obstacle as she felt really sick and couldn't just push through it. However, after discussing what could be done on a Facetime call, a conclusion was drawn up. As there are some solo scenes of Natalia in the dark, the flashbacks, the group decided to film without Jenna. This did not bother Jenna she said as she understood that filming needed to continue although she was under the weather. However, this did make things complicated as the clips of Jenna's character were already filmed in her house like it was her characters house. Nontheless, since the scenes would be dark, the house wouldn't really be seen. So once everyone came to

Fun times filming

Image
Heyy blog. Back again to finish discussing the group's first filming day. After the argument about the clothing, everything was smooth and fun. Because my group is all friends outside the project, all of us had so much fun getting everything done. After the scenes at Jenna's house, I offered to drive us to the mall in my car to film the scenes in the mall. So everyone got in my car, listening to music along the way, and I drove to the nearby mall which was around 15 minutes away. Everything was great until parking came around. Why is it so hard to find parking at a mall? I swear I never see the mall I drove us to that's busy. However, after 15 minutes of searching, I finally found a spot in the parking garage right next to an entrance to the mall. This was convenient and awesome as the spot was very close to the first store Jenna had thought of starting to film. Once I finished filming the scenes of the girls walking around the mall and shopping, Natalia wanted to shop for

Conflict filming

Image
Hey, blog. Finally, the group has begun filming. After all the conflicting schedule business and the messy time frames, my group came together and started the most fun part, filming. First, I drove over to Jenna's house with all the supplies needed. The drive is about 35 minutes and everyone else lives like 20 minutes from Jenna. I live the farthest but it's okay because I like my area better lol. So once everyone was at Jenna's house, Jenna needed to finish drying her hair. All of us were on her bed watching her try out a new heat styling brush, the Wavytalk brush. Once she finished, I suggested everyone get right into filming, and that happened. I wanted to start with the scenes in Jenna's house as it would make the most sense. My job for the movie was filming which I was somewhat okay with. Due to the fact, that I was out of town when everyone was choosing roles, I got left with filming duty which isn't the best. I would have preferred to be a part of the film b

Facetime with group

Image
Heyy bloggg. The group couldn't physically meet but I came up with a different idea to discuss with the group. Instead of hanging out, I suggested to make a group Facetime call. And we did exactly that. During the Facetime call, I tried my best to stay on task and discuss only filming things related. This however was harder for the group than thought. Nonetheless, I confirmed an exact day I know when I will not be busy. My other groupmates also surprisingly agreed on this day. I wrote down on my digital reminder app that the group would film on that specific day. On the call, I brought up everything the group would need to bring on filming day. This includes a few changes of clothes each, due to many different scenes being set on different days, charged phones, props like fake blood, and other miscellaneous things. Jenna also brought up that everyone should get to her house early so the group could make it to all the locations we needed to go to. This was a good point as filming ne

Conflicting schedules

Hey, blog I'm back and ready to discuss my production process and how it relates to my groups. So plans aren't always able to be drawn out and in this case, the plan for the first filming day couldn't be drawn out. My group consists of very busy and hard-working people. On the weekend my group had first planned on starting to film everyone ended up needing to prioritize other events. Firstly, my extended family had flown down two weeks prior so the filming date ended up being on their last weekend. This overlap caused my parents to disagree with me leaving for basically a whole day to Jenna's house. As I live in Hollywood and Jenna is in north Fort Lauderdale to get to her I need to drive 40 minutes up so this takes up a lot of days going and coming back. Usually, it wouldn't be a problem but since I needed to be home for dinner my parents were hosting as a farewell for the family that was leaving, I couldn't drive all the way up to film all the planned scenes
